A Visit from The Professor's Mum

Last week we had the pleasure of the company of Ilse and Patrick all the way from Mechelen, which as I am sure you know is near Antwerp in Belgium.

They traveled on the Eurostar and the whole journey took just over 3 hours. Not bad! Just as soon as they arrived Sam caught sight of The Professor's Assistant. His name is Penrose, but he shall be known as The Assistant. Sam took to him immediately and The Professor was equally delighted to be re-united with The Assistant after two and a half long and quite ruinous years.
There was much squeaking well into the night from the two of them.

In the three days they stayed with us they had one day out in Pinner with Sam and Angela, one day in London doing cultural things and shopping (is shopping culture?) and the third day was travelling again.

It was lovely to see Ilse and Partick and we can't wait to return the compliment and visit them in their lovingly rebuilt house.

Thanks very much for the Beer Sampler, Speculoos and, of course, the Professor's Assistant.

Here is the obligatory silly picture...
