Today we went into town to meet Martin and Janey and Edward and Henry, who we've not seen in a very long time. It was excellent to see them and we all had a lovely time together, as always.
This was despite the choice of location - the London Aquarium, which is overpriced, overcrowded and lacking all but the minimum educational value. In the end Sam and Angela and I escaped the melee half way round and took refuge in the cafe at the Royal Festival Hall.
After half an hour MJE&H caught up with us and we had a good lunch in the cafe. It has a good atmosphere in there with many other children and lots to see and do if you want to roam around. Sam had a little encounter with another toddler who seemed to like him. Who can blame her ?!
After lunch we all went for a stroll along the South Bank, towards Gabriel's Wharf. As time was flying by we didn't get too far before we had to turn back and head home. We all got on the tube at Waterloo and we parted with MJE&H at Oxford Circus after a long, but very enjoyable day on the tourist trail.
