Happy Birthday Sam !

It's one year since Sam was born and we marked the occasion by having a lovely, normal day, apart from a little bit of prezzie opening (the trike, tambourine, maracas and a couple of books) and some birthday cards too. Thank you to everyone who sent Sam a card or present.

So, what can you say on the first birthday of your only son? 'Happy Birthday' ? Perhaps a little more? I think he deserves a bit more than that. Sam has changed our lives; before we were taking it easy but not now. Our lives are filled with noise and activity and laughter now that Sam is here. It can be very hard work sometimes but always worth the effort. Sam is a lovely little boy now; he laughs and cries in good proportion, he has sparkling eyes and a cheeky grin which he uses to full effect! He has a sensitive character and can be shy sometimes but he likes to watch the world go by and he enjoys our company and he is happiest when being cuddled or carried on his dad's hip. He is such a joy to be with and I can't imagine being without him.
