Light Show

Yesterday we went to the Light Show at the Hayward gallery in London's Southbank Centre. Sam enjoyed most of the exhibits there but was understandably not too keen on the ones inside the very dark rooms. He really liked the multi-coloured room by Carlos Cruz-Diez and the strong beam by Anthony McCall.

After the gallery, we headed off to Regents Park where Sam leapt upon the climbing frame and took the helter-skelter countless times. After a pleasant picnic break, we paid another visit to the climbing frame, but it wasn't long until the lure of the ice-creams was just too great and we headed to the cafe to find one. Unfortunately the cafe was much too busy and we baulked at the queue, so we decided to find another cafe in the park. We discovered a really good cafe next to the tennis courts, which was much more civilised and had some ice creams too. We sat outside in the lovely spring sunshine and played eye-spy while the tennis played sweated it out before us.

Half an hour later we decided that the football crowds would have left Baker Street for the match at Wembley and it would be safe to venture home. Indeed it was so and we took the tube back to Pinner and we got home in time for the second half.

A lovely day in the sunshine and a bit of culture innit! Not bad...
