A Day at the Seaside

After days of rain and being cooped up in the flat, what we all needed was a trip to the seaside - yay!!!

We chose Hythe after seeing it on the Great British Waste Menu programme on BBC1 where one of the presenters picked up some Slip Sole fish from a fishing boat on the beach. It looked like a lovely, fresh place to go and perfect for Sam to get his first taste of the seaside. I wanted a pebbly beach rather than sandy, as it would be virtually impossible to get sand out of Sam's mouth, hair, clothes etc.
Sam did, naturally, try to eat the pebbles, but didin't quite get any down him.

Hythe is a nice place, lots of retirees wandering around, cluttering up the very narrow pavement. I suppose they're allowed to...

We found a very good chippy and tried Sam on his first chip butty, but he wasn't that interested. There were just too many distractions.

I hope we will get to visit Hythe again, or even Folkestone which is just up the road and looked quite nice too.
