Although Sam lives in London he has never been into town on the tube. He once went to Euston Station in the car, but he won't remember that.
So, yesterday we took advantage of the pleasant spring weather and ventured out into the West End.
First we went to Walthamstow Central - nothing special about that, but I mean the tube station. Down we went and I was expecting some reaction from Sam as we decended the escalator down onto the platform. Nothing. Not a sniffle.
The we got onto the waiting Victoria Line train. Still nothing. Then the doors closed noisily (nothing again) and the train pulled out of the station into the dark tunnel. This time Sam let out a MASSIVE sigh of contenment. He was taking it all in his stride. Station after station, as more and more people got on the train and the carriage got more crowded, Sam was as good as gold. Somehow he already knows the correct etiquette for travelling on the tube - avoid eye contact, don't smile at anyone, keep dribbling to a minimum. How has he learned these? I don't know.
We arrived at Green Park, climbed the steps to street level and found our destination (Cafe Nero) where we met with Zuzana and Anna (c-p)

After lots of cooing and attention Sam had a little nap in the pushchair and we went north through Soho, across Oxford Street to Warren Street (via Harris' for a sandwich). We stopped in Planet Organic for some brekkie or lunch ideas and then headed down into Warren Street tube for the Victoria Line back to Walthamstow Central.

All in all, we had a lovely day, enjoyed the sunshine, the ambience of Soho, meeting Zuzana and Anna and we won't hesitate to do it again.

He looked totally excited and thrilled by this. He could hardly contain himself it seems and I am sure if you checked his nappy I am sure he didn't contain himself.
yeah, you had to be there...
